Amy Hotaling

Biography

"My earliest memory of singing began during my family’s weekend trips to visit my grandparent’s in Upstate New York. It was a long drive, so to pass the time my siblings and I would take turns choosing songs to sing. Being one of seven children provided plenty of different types of song selection from “Old McDonald” a particular favorite of my Baby sisters, to the latest Beatle hits. But when it came time for my father to choose, we were all quiet and anxious to hear his deep baritone voice sing “Old Man River” or one of his favorite folk songs. My father pleaded for all of us to join in, and although we sometimes did, we often times sat quietly and listened to his deep voice fill the car with rich brilliant musical tones. My father inspired me to sing from my heart and my childhood memories of his voice often come to mind as I am singing."

"I really enjoyed the CD. Amy has such a beautiful clear voice, I just love that. I am especially happy that the accompaniment did not drown out her voice."
